PROCEDURE
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See page
).
2. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
4. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER FINISH PANEL
6. REMOVE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts. |

(b) Disengage the 2 claws to separate the DLC3.
(c) Remove the knee airbag assembly.

(d) Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the locking button. Text in Illustration

(e) Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the airbag connector.
