Engine Switch Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the engine switch illumination.

WIRING DIAGRAM

PROCEDURE

1.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH

(a) Remove the engine switch (See page 2016 MY Sienna [12/2015 - 08/2016]; 2GR-FE STARTING: ENGINE SWITCH: REMOVAL ).

(b) Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check that the engine switch comes on.

OK:

Battery positive (+) → Terminal 11 (SWIL)

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 5 (GND)

(c) Reinstall the engine switch.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the D33 engine switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the D88 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(d) Reconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(e) Reconnect the engine switch connector.
