DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor LH detects a ground short in the outer rear view mirror indicator LH.

Both of the following conditions are met:

  • Blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.
  • The current that is sent from the blind spot monitor sensor to the indicator is above a specified level for a specified period of time.
  • Outer rear view mirror LH
  • Outer rear view mirror assembly LH
  • Harness or connector
  • Blind spot monitor sensor LH

NOTICE:

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs (See page 2016 - 2017 MY Sienna [12/2015 - 11/2017]; PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: BLIND SPOT MONITOR SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

(b) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

OK:

No DTCs are output.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH)

(a) Disconnect the q3 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.

(b) Disconnect the H5*1 or H13*2 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

  • *1: w/ Seat Position Memory System
  • *2: w/o Seat Position Memory System

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the H5*1 or H13*2 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

  • *1: w/ Seat Position Memory System
  • *2: w/o Seat Position Memory System

(b) Disconnect the IND2 outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR LH)

(a) Replace the outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) (See page 2016 - 2017 MY Sienna [12/2015 - 11/2017]; MIRROR (EXT): OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR: REMOVAL ).

CHECK DTC
