Front Side Door Window Channel Retainer Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

  1. Raise window to the full up position.

  2. Place the front side door in the full open position.

  17. Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips as necessary.

  20. Mark the location of the front side door roller bolts (1) with a grease pencil to aid in alignment during installation.

  22. Disconnect the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
  23. With the aid of an assistant, remove the front side door.(1)

Installation Procedure

  1. Front Side Door Window Channel Front Retainer(2)»Install
  2. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation.Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  8. Connect the electrical connectors and install the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
