Removal Procedure

    Warning: Always ensure the Battery Maintenance Mode is inactive before disconnecting the low voltage 12 volt battery (or batteries). This mode can be active with the ignition off, regardless of whether the vehicle charging cord is plugged in or not. When this mode is active, the on-board high voltage battery charger(s) will energize the 12 volt battery cables and charge the 12 volt battery (or batteries). Disconnecting any battery cables while this mode is active may result in an electrical shock or a burn from hot battery cable leads.

  1. Check the 12 volt battery voltage with a digital multimeter before disconnecting any battery cables leads. If the voltage is 13.5 volts or above, the Battery Maintenance Mode is active. The technician must wait for the T18 battery charger to deactivate before disconnecting the battery negative cable. Charging System Description and Operation

  7. Cap the front brake pipe outlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  12. Plug the front brake caliper inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  2. Remove the cap from the front brake pipe outlet.

  4. Rear Brake Front Pipe Nut(2)»Install and tighten—Fastener Specifications
  5. Front Brake Hose Bracket Bolt(1)»Install and tighten[2x]—Fastener Specifications

  6. Remove the plug the front brake caliper inlet.
  7. Front Brake Hose Washer(3)»Install NEW[2x]
  8. Front Brake Hose(1)@Front Brake Caliper»Install
  9. Front Brake Hose Fitting Bolt(2)»Install and tighten—Fastener Specifications
  10. Connect the battery negative cable.Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  11. Bleed the brake system.Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
  12. Check for brake system leaks.
  13. Install the front tire and wheel assembly.Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  14. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
