B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield: Programming and Setup
Note:
- Always verify the module has the newest software available before replacing the module.
 - Ensure the programming tool is equipped with the latest software and is securely connected to the data link connector. If there is an interruption during programming, programming failure or control module damage may occur.
 - Stable battery voltage is critical during programming. Any fluctuation, spiking, over voltage or loss of voltage will interrupt programming. When required install the EL-49642 SPS Programming Support Tool to maintain system voltage. If not available, connect a fully charged 12 V jumper or booster pack disconnected from the AC voltage supply. DO NOT connect
a battery charger.
 - Turn OFF or disable systems that may put a load on the vehicles battery such as; interior lights, exterior lights (including daytime running lights), HVAC, radio, etc.
 - During the programming procedure, follow the SPS prompts for the correct ignition switch position.
 - Clear DTCs after programming is complete. Clearing powertrain DTCs will set the Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) system status indicators to NO.
 - Anytime the B174W Frontview Camera Module is removed from its mount, the Front View Camera Module Learn must be performed.
 - Depending on the vehicle, the calibration/learn procedure may start automatically after SPS programming is complete, otherwise it is necessary to initiate the calibration/learn using a scan tool. These vehicles can be identified by the setting of a DTC indicating the vehicle is actively in calibration/learn mode that cannot be cleared until the calibration/learn is complete.

Replace and Program B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield or Reprogram B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield
To program a replacement or an existing B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield, perform the following procedure:
- Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
 - On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield – Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.
 - On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield – Configuration and follow the on-screen instructions.
 - Clear DTCs
Note: Some vehicles will immediately enter calibration/learn mode after programming the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield. These vehicles will set a DTC that cannot be cleared until the calibration/learn is complete. If a DTC is set immediately after programming, and the DTC cannot be cleared, the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield is already in calibration/learn mode. If this happens, the configuration
procedure in step 3 still needs to be completed.
- Following B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield programming, the module must be calibrated/learned. Refer to Front View Camera Module Learn.
 - Drive the vehicle to complete calibration/learn of the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield. Operate the vehicle in the following conditions until the calibration/learn is complete:
 - Clean windshield
 - Avoid lane changes
 - Maintain vehicle speeds between 56–90 km/h (35–56 MPH)
 - Ensure the road contains visible references (well defined lane markings, curbs, etc.)

- When the calibration/learn procedure is complete, the amber indicator will turn off. Shortly after, the green ready to assist indicating will turn on so long as all conditions are met for normal operation. The system is now ready to assist and, programming and setup is complete.
 - Clear any DTCs.

Unsuccessful Programming Recovery
In the event of an interrupted or unsuccessful programming event, perform the following steps:
- DO NOT turn the ignition OFF. Ensure that all B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield, DLC and programming tool connections are secure and the TIS terminal operating software is up to date.
 - Attempt to reprogram the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield.
 - If the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield can still not be programmed, turn the ignition OFF for at least one minute.
 - Turn the ignition ON and attempt to reprogram the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield. The B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield should program.
 - If the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield still cannot be programmed, replace the B174W Frontview Camera - Windshield.
