Diagnostic Aids
- Improper speaker mounting, loose trim, or loose connector to the speaker may cause an audible buzz or distortion. Inspect the appropriate speaker, the surrounding interior trim, and the connector for proper connection and secure mounting.
 - The EL-50334-6 Audio System Diagnostic CD contains audio tracks that can be used to duplicate and isolate concerns. Tracks 11 and 12 contain audio sweep tones for testing for speaker and grill rattles. The test tones on the CD may be copied to a USB drive or other device to use during testing.
 - Some circuits supply audio signals to more than one speaker. It may be necessary to disconnect all speakers on the affected audio circuit when performing circuit tests.

Note: The balance and fade controls can be used to help isolate an inoperative speaker or poor sound condition.
- Verify the component works as specified:P19 Speaker—All=Clear sound
 - If the component works as specified

- All OK.

Circuit/System TestingNote: It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems » Off
 - Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector:P19 Speaker
 - Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
 - A11 Radio»On
 - Mute»Off
 - Test for 2 to 10 V between the test points:
 - Signal circuit terminal 1&Ground
 - Signal circuit terminal 2&Ground

- Ignition/Vehicle » Off
 - Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector:A11 Radio
 - Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
 - Signal circuit terminal 1@P19 Speaker&Ground
