Regulated voltage supplied by the control module.

Component

Description

K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module

The control module K111 supplies the fuel pump with a PWM signal in order to achieve the desired fuel line pressure.

K20 Engine Control Module

The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal vehicle performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the propulsion system actuators accordingly.

Conditions for Running the DTCP157A
  • DTC P16D7, P16D8, P16D9 = Not set
  • Sensor Supply Voltage Relay Command=Off

Frequency the DTC runs=Continuously—After the running conditions are met

P16D7–P16D9

Run/Crank Circuit Voltage=Greater than 11 V

Frequency the DTC runs=Continuously—After the running conditions are met

Conditions for Setting the DTCP157A

The difference between the following parameters is greater than a predefined value:

  • Fuel Pump Driver Control Module Enable Circuit
  • Battery Voltage Circuit

Sensor Supply Voltage Relay Control Circuit=Open—For greater than 1 s

P16D8

Sensor Supply Voltage Relay Control Circuit=Short to Ground—For greater than 1 s

P16D9

Sensor Supply Voltage Relay Control Circuit=Short to Voltage—For greater than 1 s

Control Module References

Circuit/System Verification
  1. Ignition » On / Vehicle » In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC P157A, P16D7, P16D8, P16D9 is not set
    • If only DTC P157A is set

      Replace the component:K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module

    • If only DTC P16D7, P16D8, P16D9 is set

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • If none of the DTCs are set
  3. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • If the DTC does not set
  4. All OK.
Circuit/System Testing
  1. Ignition/Vehicle » Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector:K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Terminal 18@Component harness&Ground
    • If less than infinite resistance

      Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • If infinite resistance
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector:X1@K20 Engine Control Module
  5. Test for less than 1 V between the test points:Terminal 18@Component harness&Ground
    • If 1 V or greater

      Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

    • If less than 1 V
  6. Test for less than 2 Ω between the test points:Terminal 18@Component harness&Control circuit terminal 64@Control module harness
    • If 2 Ω or greater

      Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • If less than 2 Ω
  7. Replace the component:K20 Engine Control Module
