Component

Description

K20 Engine Control Module

The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs.

The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal vehicle performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the propulsion system actuators accordingly.

Q42 Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid Valve

In the unpowered state, the output port of the valve is connected to the ventilation port (atmospheric pressure). The more voltage applied, the more the valve shifts over from the ventilation port to the pressure supply port so that the pressure at the output port becomes stronger.

A wastegate is a valve that diverts exhaust gases away from the turbine wheel of a turbocharger directly into the exhaust system. The primary function of the wastegate is to regulate the maximum boost pressure and to protect the engine and the turbocharger. The wastegate valve is actuated by a pressure actuator, which is controlled by a solenoid valve.
