Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Terrain)
Removal Procedure
  1. Extend the steering column to the fully telescoped position.

    2. Object ID: 4726778
  2. Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to separate the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column lower trim cover.
  3. Position the steering column upper trim cover (1) cover out of the way.
  4. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

  5. Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt(1)»Remove
  6. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

  7. Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt(1)»Remove
  8. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

    9. Object ID: 4726784
  9. Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt(1)»Remove

    10. Note: Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the steering column tilt and telescoping lever as necessary.

  10. Remove the steering column lower trim cover (2) from the steering column.
Installation Procedure

    Note: Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the steering column tilt and telescoping lever as necessary.

  1. Position the steering column lower trim cover (2) on the steering column.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution.

  2. Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt(1)»Install and tighten1.5 N·m  (13 lb in)
  3. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

  5. Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.

  6. Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt(1)»Install and tighten1.5 N·m  (13 lb in)
  7. Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.

  8. Secure the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column lower trim cover.
