Exhaust Particulate Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly.Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Caution: Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ±0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.

  4. Electrical Connector(1)@Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module(2)»Disconnect

    5. Note: Secure the exhaust particulate sensor control module from falling down in order to prevent a defect on the control module.

  5. Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module Bracket Nut(3)»Remove[2x]

  6. Wiring Harness Retainer(1)@Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle»Remove[3x]

    Note: Do NOT bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position.

  7. Exhaust Particulate Sensor(1)»Remove
Installation Procedure

    CautionComponent Fastener Tightening Caution

    Note: Do NOT bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position.

  3. Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module(2)»Install

    4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution.

  4. Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module Bracket Nut(3)»Install and tighten[2x]9N·m(80 lb in)
  5. Electrical Connector(1)@Exhaust Particulate Sensor Control Module(2)»Connect
  6. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly.Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  7. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  8. Connect the battery negative cable.Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  9. Perform the DPF Reset. DPF Reset
