Starter Solenoid Cable Replacement (GMC LH7 - Front Wheel Drive)
Removal Procedure
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block Cover(1)»Open
Starter Solenoid Cable Nut(1)»Remove
Starter Solenoid Cable(2)»Remove
Remove the engine control module bracket.
Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
Retainer(1)@Battery Tray»Disengage
Retainer(1)@ Automatic Transmission Range Selector Actuator Bracket (2)»Disengage[4x]
Raise and support the vehicle.
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Retainer Clip(1)»Disengage
Protective Cap(3)»Remove
Battery Positive Cable Nut(2)»Remove
Starter Solenoid Cable(1)»Remove
Starter Solenoid Cable Nut(2)@Starter Solenoid(3)»Remove
Starter Solenoid Cable(1)»Remove
Installation Procedure
Starter Solenoid Cable(1)@Starter Solenoid(3)»Install
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
Starter Solenoid Cable Nut(2)»Install and tighten
12 N·m (106 lb in)
Starter Solenoid Cable(1)»Install
Battery Positive Cable Nut(2)»Install and tighten
15 N·m (11 lb ft)
Protective Cap(3)»Install
Retainer Clip(1)»Engage
Lower the vehicle.
Retainer(1)@ Automatic Transmission Range Selector Actuator Bracket (2)»Engage[4x]
Starter Solenoid Cable(2)»Install
Starter Solenoid Cable Nut(1)»Install and tighten
12 N·m (106 lb in)
Retainer(1)@Battery Tray»Engage
Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block Cover(1)»Close
Install the engine control module bracket.
Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
Connect the battery negative cable.
