Transmission Brace Replacement (M3D, M3H Transmission with LTG Engine)

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  2. Remove the power transfer unit to transmission brace bolts (1).
  3. Remove the power transfer unit from the vehicle. Power Transfer Unit Case Replacement

  4. Remove the transmission to engine bolts (1).
  5. Remove the transmission brace (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the transmission brace (2) to the engine.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution.

  2. Install the transmission brace to engine bolts (1) and tighten to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  3. Install the power transfer unit to transmission brace bolts (1) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
  4. Install the power transfer unit to the vehicle. Power Transfer Unit Case Replacement
  5. Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
