Installation Procedure

- Use DT-36850–A Transjel Lubricant for installing the control valve body ball check valves on-vehicle.
- Control Valve Body Ball Check Valve(1)»Install[6x]

- Fluid Transfer Pipe Seal(1)»Install NEW
- Fluid Transfer Pipe(2)»Install and tighten9 N·m (80 lb in)

- Clutch Fluid Passage Seal(1)»Install NEW[5x]
Caution: The park release lever must be in the park position to align properly with the piston switch opening prior to installation of the control valve body. Failure to align the components properly may result in damage to the parking servo piston switch.
- Place the Park Release Lever in the park position.
- The piston switch opening must be positioned correctly. Use appropriate tool to position opening if necessary.
- Carefully install the Control Valve Body (2) in the transmission insuring the Park Release Lever aligns inside the Parking Servo Position Switch opening indicated by arrow.
- Control Valve Body Bolt(3)»Install and tighten in sequence[5x]8 N·m (71 lb in)

- Control Valve Solenoid Body(1)»Install
- Ensure you connect all the connectors to the control valve solenoid body.
- When servicing on-vehicle, the Variable Feed Solenoid Clutch Accumulator Pistons, and Springs may fall out. Control Valve Body Assembly Disassemble
- Control Valve Body Bolt(2)»Install and hand tighten[3x]
- Control Valve Body Bolt(3)»Install and hand tighten[12x]
Note: Control valve body bolt quantity is wiring harness dependent.
- Control Valve Body Bolt(4)»Install and hand tighten[5x]or [6x]

- Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Seal(1)»Install NEW
Note:
- The bolt retainer area on the wiring harness indicated by arrow may or may not be present. Newer design wiring harness does not have bolt retainer area.
- The bolts are captured in the wiring harness.
- Ensure the variable feed solenoid clutch accumulator pistons and springs are installed prior to harness installation.
- Automatic Transmission Wiring Harness(2)»Install and tighten8 N·m (71 lb in)
- Ensure you connect all the electrical connectors to the valve body.
- Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt(3)»Install and tighten9 N·m (80 lb in)
Note: Control valve body bolt quantity is wiring harness dependent.
- Control Valve Body Bolt(4)»Install and hand tighten[2x]or [3x]

- Control Valve Body Bolt(1)»Install and tighten in sequence[3x]8 N·m (71 lb in)
- Control Valve Body Bolt(2)»Install and tighten in sequence[12x]8 N·m (71 lb in)
Control Valve Body Bolt(3)»Install and tighten in sequence[8x]8 N·m (71 lb in)

Note: The park inhibitor solenoid must be installed after the control valve solenoid body assembly installation to allow for proper alignment.
- Park Inhibitor Solenoid(1)»Install
- Align the park inhibitor solenoid (1) by pushing and holding it flush against the control valve solenoid body assembly. Continue to hold down the park inhibitor solenoid until the control valve solenoid body bolts (2) are tightened.
- Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt(2)»Install and tighten[2x]8 N·m (71 lb in)
- Connect electrical connector.
