Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Equinox)
Removal Procedure

  4. Remove the liftgate bumper pad bolt. (1)
  5. Remove the liftgate bumper protector. (2)

  6. Rear Bumper Fascia Bolt(1)»Remove

  7. Rear Bumper Fascia Lower Bolt(1)»Remove[2x]

  8. Carefully push a small nylon wedge between the fascia (1) and the fascia guide. Insert a small flat-bladed tool into the fascia slot and depress the snaps one at a time and pull on the fascia at the same time to gradually remove the fascia.

  9. Using a trim type tool, push down to release the 3 top tabs from the rear bumper fascia (1).

  10. Using a trim type tool, slide the tool in from the liftgate side of the rear bumper fascia (2) to release the 2 side tabs while pulling out and away from the rear fascia guide (1).

  11. Rear Bumper Fascia(1)»Remove
  12. Disconnect all electrical connectors.
  13. Transfer components as necessary.
Installation Procedure

  1. Rear Bumper Fascia(1)»Install
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.

    3. Note: It is necessary to program all side object sensor modules after removal or transfer for proper system operation.

  3. Push the liftgate side of the rear bumper fascia (2) on to the 2 side tabs of the rear fascia guide (1).

  4. Secure the rear bumper fascia (1) to the 3 top tabs of the rear bumper fascia guide.

  5. Secure the rear bumper fascia (1) to the rear fascia guide.

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution.

  6. Rear Bumper Fascia Lower Bolt(1)»Install and tighten[2x]2.5N·m(22 lb in)

  8. Install the liftgate bumper protector. (2)
  9. Liftgate bumper pad bolt (1) »Install and tighten2.5N·m(22 lb in)
